JOHN D. BINDON OCADJohn graduated from the Ontario College of Art in 1982 out of the Communication and Design department. His first high profile work was creating 24 illustrations for a plastic cup promotion for 7/11 [a convenience chain store] depicting scenes from George Lucas's RETURN OF THE JEDI 1983 theatrical release. He went on to produce a number of similar promotional series throughout the 80's AND 90's including GREMLINS, FLINTSTONES, also NFL, CFL, NHL, .MLB, T.V. SOAP STARS, WILDLIFE, DINOSAURS.In 1989 John first book assignment was a dinosaur series which prompted him to pursue that subject matter in greater depth and expertise to this day (25 titles) with a number of well received accolades from his peers [Artists: Hallett, Paul, Skrepnick, Train, Walters ---Paleontologists: Olshevsky, Ford ---Writers: Lessem, Dixon]. An association with Hall Train since 1993 has led John into a number of museum and television projects including murals, exhibit, and video development work. In 1995 he contributed dinosaur character developmental designs for Disney's Dinosaur Movie.In addition to his book, museum, film and video work, John has also maintained a successful career in the commercial art field working in a number of fields including editorial advertising and licensing, most notably lines in the Calendar/Stationery industry, namely; COW ‘MOOODS’ (slightly whimsical cattle) 1996-99,2004,2005) Teddy Bears(TEDDY BEAR CORNER 2001-04/CEDARBROOK BEARS 2007) Rural/Farm (COUNTRY DAYS coming 2009) John and his wife, Frances, are currently living in Burlington Ontario Canada
