Bio

I like to make pictures that you can read, and I like the way words look, the shapes and spaces and rhythms of letters. I've illustrated forty books, eight of which I also wrote. A frequent contributor of Critter Crackups to Ranger Rick magazine, and the designer of the popular font ITC Zemke Hand, I live in Missouri with my family where I work under the watchful gaze of our border collie.
