My illustrative focus has been two-fold—designing for surface/textiles and for children’s picture books. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some great clients, and have illustrated product-driven textiles for Hasbro, packaging for Fisher-Price, and a Kindergarten Reader for Scott-Foresman. Whatever the project, my goal is to create art that inspires thought, evokes a smile, and serves a purpose. Whether creating a funny character or an everyday object, I use unusual colors, lines that sometimes don’t connect and seemingly impossible patterns jig-sawed together to become a strange and perfect new world filled with humor and surprise.
