Steven Salerno has illustrated 15 picture books to date, including the stories of famed authors Margaret Wise Brown (The Dirty Little Boy), and Bill Martin Jr. (Chicken Chuck).
He is the author/illustrator of three of his own stories (Little Tumbo, Coco the Carrot, and Harry Hungry! (which will be released by Harcourt in 2009).
Steven is a graduate of Parson School of Design (now named Parsons/The New School for Design) in New York City, where he studied under celebrated author/illustrator Maurice Sendak (Where the Wild Things Are). Steven's illustrated picture books have earned praise from The New York Times Book Review, Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Reviews, School Library Journal, Children's Literature and other industry publications.
In addition to illustrating children's picture books, Steven's illustrations and graphics are seen widely in magazines, newspapers, advertising, product packaging, corporate publications, retail interior graphics, and web sites.
