Bio

JOHN D. BINDON OCAD I graduated from the Ontario College of Art in 1982 - Communication and Design department. My first high profile work was creating 24 illustrations for a plastic cup promotion for 7Eleven[a convenience chain store] depicting scenes from George Lucas's RETURN OF THE JEDI 1983 theatrical release. I went on to produce a number of similar promotional series throughout the 80's AND 90's including GREMLINS, FLINTSTONES, also NFL, CFL, NHL, MLB, T.V. SOAP STARS, WILDLIFE, DINOSAURS. In 1989 my first book assignment was a dinosaur series which prompted me to pursue that subject matter in greater depth and expertise. l have received warm accolades from my peers in the field of paleontology, namely; Artists: Hallett, Paul, Skrepnick, Train, Walters to name a few ---Paleontologists: Olshevsky, Ford ---Writers: Lessem, Dixon]. An association and friendship with Hall Train since 1992 has led me into a number of museum and television projects including murals, exhibits, and video productions. In 1995 I contributed character [dinosaurs] developmental designs for Disney's Dinosaur Movie. In addition to my book, museum, film and video work, I have also maintained a successful career in the commercial art field working in a number of fields including editorial, advertising and licensing, most notably lines in the Calendar/Stationery industry, namely; COW ‘MOOODS’ (slightly whimsical themed cattle) 1996-99, 2004, 2005) Teddy Bears(TEDDY BEAR CORNER 2001-04/CEDARBROOK BEARS 2007) Rural/Farm (COUNTRY DAYS 2009 - 2010 in development) John and his wife, Frances, are currently living in Burlington, Ontario Canada.
