Phyllis Harris began her freelancing career at Hallmark, working for them and other clients over the next 15 years. She began her full time illustration career for children's publications in 2000. Since then, her illustrations have appeared in magazines and books for clients such as Scholastic, Standard Publishing, Fisher Price, Houghton Mifflin, Weekly Reader, Highlights Magazine, Hooked on Phonics, and Your Big Backyard Magazine.
