Bio

My clients include Houghton Mifflin, Harcourt Brace, Harper Collins, Macmillan McGraw-Hill, Random House Children's Books, The Chicago Tribune, D.C.Cook and Augsburg Publishing (religious art), Modern Curriculum Press, Pearson Education, Scholastic Publishing, Scott Foresman, Steck-Vaughn and Silver Burdett and Ginn. I have a liberal arts degree from University of Wisconsin, Madison with a major in fine arts and twenty years experience illustrating trade and text books, editorial art, art for character development, game boards and toys, cookbooks and calendars.

Self representation allows me to develop a working relationship with you the client, that promotes maximum creativity in the art. I see the business end of illustrating as exciting and mutually beneficial. Many of my clients are my best friends.

I live in the woods on a beautiful river, just close enough to the city to do business and see clients, but far enough away that my everyday visitors are eagle, deer and beaver. My time is filled with art making, and book creating. I work in watercolor primarily, with a neutral line, and bright printable colors. I also do black line illustration for workbooks and various publications. The finished art is scanned, cleaned up and delivered digitally instantly. So much easier for everyone! Of course I can send you scanable art anytime you prefer.

I have just finished two huge reading programs, almost a dozen little books, and  a lot of new illustrations to show..animals, and kids . Look for them soon!
