Dorothy Reinhardt has been illustrating books since 1992, shortly after receiving her BFA in Illustration from Academy of Art, San Francisco. An avid birder, she enjoys illustrating birds and other animals. Her other love is cooking. She has illustrated many cookbooks.
Working primarily in scratchboard and watercolor, Dorothy developed a unique colorful decorative style, reminiscent of wood engraving. She is versatile, working both in black & white and color. Recently she has been creating beautiful decorative illustrated maps for various clients.
Her clients have included: Harcourt Brace, McGraw Hill, St. Martin's Press, Chronicle Books, Time for Kids, Simon & Schuster, Crown Publishers, Wadsworth, Klutz Press and Henry Holt.
