I visit schools with my books to spend time with budding artists and writers - I offer both writing programs and hands-on art programs. It is hard to leave a classroom of outspoken and imaginative first graders at the end of the day, but a new art supply or story idea is always waiting to be explored... |
| Neecy Twinem | neecy@neecytwinem.com | Bio | Neecy Twinem is an award winning children's book author and illustrator with over 25 published titles for various ages. Her rich, brightly colored artwork invites readers to explore and enjoy the natural world. Neecy's art may also be found on book covers, educational books, classroom readers, magazines, as well as puzzles, posters, greeting cards, t-shirts, public murals, and private collections.
Twinem is a regular speaker at schools, conferences and literacy festivals across the country. She loves to share the process of creating books with children and adults. She gives presentations, workshops, artist-in-residence programs, and has designed and implemented original murals. Neecy has taught private art lessons to children and adults for thirteen years, both in New York and New Mexico.
Neecy graduated with a fine arts degree from the San Francisco Art Institute, and has exhibited her artwork throughout the United States and parts of Europe. Her childhood roots are in Colorado and the Midwest. Neecy and her family recently relocated to the mountains of New Mexico after residing in the new York metropolitan area for many years. Neecy now enjoys writing and illustrating in the inspiring natural surroundings of her home studio in the Sandia mountains. |
| Peggy Collins | peggycollins@mac.com | Bio | Since 2004, Peggy Has been illustrating books for children. She has six titles with Scholastic, three with Red Robin Books UK, and has, most recently, signed on with Cider Mill Press for a series of picture books she has written - the first two are due out in hardback this year.
She has also done a wide variety of covers, spots and editorials for children's magazines, workplace magazines, educational workbooks, and parenting magazines.
She enjoys working with humour, energy, colour and great stories. She work on clayboard, illustration board and watercolour paper using, gouache, pastel, ink, crayon - whatever works for the story.
She is easy to work with, as evidenced by the clients who keep coming back for more. She is punctual and efficient and has been told she is the 'easiest illustrator I have ever worked with' by more than one art director.
