Bio

A graduate from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts in Art and Education Ginger taught First Grade, Art and Remedial Reading before changing directions and spending the next few years as a travel agent. But in each career she always found herself using her art and illustrations as a tool. Newly transplanted to New England with her husband, she is now illustrating for the children's market and children's trade books full time. Her work is a mixture of traditional and digital media. Beginning with a sketch or simple painting the initial image gets scanned into the computer and the illustration is finished there. She uses a painting program that allows her to simulate actual brush strokes in a variety of media. This is still "painting" but it is so much less messy.
