Bio

Neecy Twinem is an award winning children's book author and illustrator with over 25 published titles for various ages. Her rich, brightly colored artwork invites readers to explore and enjoy the natural world. Neecy's art may also be found on book covers, educational books, classroom readers, magazines, as well as puzzles, posters, greeting cards, t-shirts, public murals, and private collections.

Twinem is a regular speaker at schools, conferences and literacy festivals across the country. She loves to share the process of creating books with children and adults. She gives presentations, workshops, artist-in-residence programs, and has designed and implemented original murals. Neecy has taught private art lessons to children and adults for thirteen years, both in New York and New Mexico.

Neecy graduated with a fine arts degree from the San Francisco Art Institute, and has exhibited her artwork throughout the United States and parts of Europe. Her childhood roots are in Colorado and the Midwest. Neecy and her family recently relocated to the mountains of New Mexico after residing in the new York metropolitan area for many years. Neecy now enjoys writing and illustrating in the inspiring natural surroundings of her home studio in the Sandia mountains.
